I believe that education for citizenship is central to creating a modern, inclusive society and through the teaching of citizenship we can encourage children to become active, informed, critical and responsible citizens of our own democracy. Citizenship is very important in the social and moral development of pupils and developing political literacy and I was delighted to see that your website fully supports this.
I was particularly encouraged to learn how many schools have registered with the website and are sharing good practice throughout. It is an excellent example of how we can work together to teach pupils the basic rules and skills for behaving well and respecting other people.
